These are just a few tips on using your Cluenet account. You should read them before logging in.

  • Some servers have a command called cluemount.sh that will allow you to easily mount your home directory from another server. It's just a wrapper script for sshfs.
  • Some servers have a default .muttrc that allows you to access your email from the mutt text-based client, if you are authorized to access email.
  • Cluenet servers are sometimes most easily accessible by IPv6. If you do not have IPv6, you may have to SSH to one of the servers that provides a forwarded IPv4 SSH port, and then SSH from there to the other servers. The SSH command uses IPv6 by default, if available, so you just need to provide the server hostname to the SSH command.
  • Your home directory on a server should automatically be created when you first log in to the server.
  • You can use LDIFs to modify your LDAP Attributes using the ldapmodify command on shell servers.
  • Use the Cluenet Account Shell interface to change various account properties and to access some special privileges.
