Please note this FAQ is intended for advanced users of IRC who already know about modes and their general usage, but whom do not know the specific modes that are avalible on ShellsNet. No users should need to know the modes here, they are included for completeness and so that channel operators and ircops have a reference to learn them from.
Modes Introduction
Please note, these modes may be very different to other networks.
Note that many modes are reserved for IRCops and/or Services to set, and you may not be able to use them.
Such modes are included for completenes of documentation only.
Some modes, such as umode +g, may be set by anyone, but will only have any effect in conjunction with another mode.
Currently, mode +R is set by default on all channels and users on the network.
If you have questions about the modes or other technical details of ShellsNet, try ask an op in #shells.
